Kipp Dye, MSPT

Kipp Dye is a well known Boston-based physical therapist who previously managed Charles River Sports Therapy, Boston, Inc. He is currently the owner of OrthosportsMED Physical Therapy. Kipp graduated with a Master of Science degree from Simmons College (1996) and obtained his undergraduate education from the University of California at Berkeley (1986). Kipp is an accomplished competitive swimmer: a high school and NCAA Division I All-American, and a gold medalist in the 50 Meter Backstroke at the 1998 Nike World Masters Games. Kipp understands water therapy and fitness and works with those who have orthopedic conditions such as arthritis, sports injuries, and post-surgical conditions. His areas of specialty are foot and ankle, shoulder, and knee conditions. Also, Kipp is an inventor of the Aquafit water therapy and fitness product line.

Lawrence Bourdeau, DPT, ATC/L, CSCS

Dr. Bourdeau is a certified and licensed physical therapist, athletic trainer, and orthopedic technologist. Dr. Bourdeau earned his B.S. in athletic training at Northeastern University.s Bouve. College in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.

During Dr. Bourdeau.s carrier he has worked at the World Champion New England Patriots and accompanied them to the 2002 Super Bowl. He again had the opportunity to help the team with physical therapy and athletic training in the 2007 off-season. Here in the Massachusetts area he has done physical therapy, athletic training, and strength and conditioning work for the Worcester County Wild Cats and 2007 New England Bowl Champions, the Massachusetts Fury semi-pro football teams.

Dr. Bourdeau has also done athletic training/physical therapy work though out Massachusetts for Greendale Physical Therapy and Sport Chiropractic, Boston Medical Center, Sports and Physical Therapy Associates, Amherst College, University of Massachusetts, Boston College, Worcester State College, The College of the Holy Cross Western New England College, American International College, and Elms College. Other physical therapy experience includes neurological rehabilitation at the Kessler Rehabilitation Institute in Chester, New Jersey.

Currently Dr. Bourdeau is the Clinical Coordinator of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at OrthoSportsMED Physical Therapy in Newton, Massachusetts. Other interests he likes to participate in are: Rowing, Cycling, Skiing, Golfing, Running, Hockey, and Soccer.

Emily Banffy, MSPT

Emily graduated from Mercy College with a Master of Science in physical therapy, where she previously received her BS in health science. Her clinical experiences during graduate school included internships at NYU's RUSK institute, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, as well as several months in outpatient PT. While attending PT school Emily worked as a PT aide for several years where her interest in outpatient PT developed. She enjoys working with the variety of patients that are characteristic of the outpatient orthopedic practice. In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with her family, as well as enjoying the outdoors, hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding.

Andrew Millett, MSPT

Andrew received a Master's of Science in Physical Therapy from Springfield College and also attended Springfield College for his undergraduate degree. His clinical internships while at Springfield College included HealthSouth Rehabilitation in Wellington, FL, Morgan Rehab Group at UMass Worcester, Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT, and Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA. While at Springfield College, Andrew played baseball for 2 seasons. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys watching and playing sports, listening to music, traveling, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and weightlifting.

Rebecca Spalding, Administrative Assistant, PT Aide

Rebecca graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Psychology and Exercise Studies. Prior to joining the OrthoSportsMED team, Rebecca worked for National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C. and also volunteered with the Wounded Warrior program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. An accomplished college athlete, Rebecca continues to play squash and coach field hockey and softball in her spare time.

Nitish Sharma, Physical Therapy Aide

Nitish Sharma graduated from University of New England with a BS in applied exercise science. His clinical experience includes internships as Saco Bay PT in York, ME and at OrthoSportsMED PT in Newton, MA. He enjoys listening to music and playing sports.

Jake Barron, Billing Manager

Jake has had extensive experience with insurance billing matters for the past 10 years. Jake worked with Kipp Dye, the owner of OrhtoSportsMED PT, at Charles River Sports Therapy in Boston, MA in 1998-99.
It is great to have Jake onboard for it is critical in this era of the complex healthcare system we have in America. He is able to turn seemingly complex and frustrating issues into organized solutions for patients and insurers alike.

Jen Brier, Admin/Marketing Assistant/PT Aide

Jen Brier recently graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University, receiving her B.A. in English and minoring in Mass Media and Communications. She worked as an ENG Producer for WCVB Channel 5 News fresh out of school, having previously taken on internships with both Community Newspaper Company and Boston Magazine. She has also worked as the Marketing Coordinator for an accounting firm and a Marketing Assistant for a health club. Jen believes staying fit-- physically and mentally--is essential. In her spare time, she likes to go to the gym, read, write, listen to music, travel, run outdoors (when weather permits), and spend time with friends.
